Japan is a small country of islands running northeast to southwest. The March 11, 2011 earthquake with tsunami occurred in the Tohoku region. As a result of the earthquake, a nuclear accident occurred. Because of this, Japan has suffered three disasters.
There has been much victim assistance following the earthquake and tsunami, and this will gradually lead to improvement and rebuilding for the people. With the nuclear accident, however, there are many unsolved and unclear things, and difficult decisions, making understanding difficult. This has given rise to rumors: the third disaster.
At least knowing the geography of Japan can help with understanding and confusion.
It is divided into eight regions broadly. There are 47 prefectures.
